A highy acclaimed architect has become 'Glasgow's third citizen' after being elected Deacon Convener of the Trades of Glasgow. George Horspool is a past president of Glasgow Institute of Architects and final-year examiner at the Mackintosh School of Architecture. Horspool, who retired in 1997, will represent the Trades House of Glasgow, which dates back to medieval times and provides help to underprivileged youngsters or old people in hard times.
