Forget Gateshead's Angel of the North and get ready for the 'Otter of the West'.

Devon is planning a £50,000 project to build a massive great otter statue in a bid to attract more tourists. Designs are now being put forward for the site on the new A30 between Honiton and Ottery St Mary at Escot. 'We want the sculpture to be tall and imposing, to make travellers pause for thought, ' said Escot development officer Mr Kent, who hopes it'll make tourists stop and visit rather than drive on through to Cornwall.Tarka lives!
