Gehry to build cancer care building in Dundee

Another glamorous international architect from the premier league is to build in Scotland, it emerged this week.

Frank Gehry, architect of the acclaimed new Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, Spain, is understood to have been commissioned by Charles Jencks to design a cancer care building in Dundee. Richard Murphy Architects designed the first such building in the country, again for Jencks, in Edinburgh. A conversion of a small stone stable block, Maggie's Centre at the Western General Hospital in the city was in memory of the late Maggie Jencks.
