Jennie Page's near-miraculous achievement in getting the Dome completed on time has been rewarded with that most political of honours, the Order of the Boot. Politicians, needless to say, have been free from blame. It was nothing to do with Michael Heseltine, Peter Mandelson, Tony Blair or Lord Falconer or Michael Grade and the 'Litmus Group'. If you think Page was responsible for the Millennium Eve fiasco, ask yourself this: why did people have to make their way from Stratford in the first place? Because the government did not want real people actually mixing with President Blair and the Royals. Page will doubtless reveal all in her memoirs, which can start with the day she had to tell Michael Heseltine where to get off.
