Publisher Phaidon launched Hugh Pearman's 512-page, £59.95 heavyweight Contemporary World Architecture this week. 'Thank you for coming to such an unfashionable building at such an unfashionable time,' said Hugh. The venue was the rooftop garden of No 1 Poultry; the time 16.00, for 'High Tea'. Guests included Robert Maxwell, Robert Adam, Cedric Price and David Wild; not all admired the building's detailing at rooftop level. But Hugh kept them in good humour: 'High tea is all alcoholic,' he announced. 'Get plastered!'
