Spin doctors at St James's Palace may have been a little premature in releasing the name of Christopher Howes, chief executive of the Crown Estate, in relation to the running of the proposed new Prince of Wales' Foundation, intended to put the prince's architectural and building interests under one umbrella. Howes is, I gather, rather reluctant to accept this poisoned chalice, perhaps not surprisingly after the continuing debacle at the Prince's School - or Death Wish III as some are now calling it. He did, however, have a cameo role to play in the recent Urban Villages Forum outing to Florida resort developments, and is much sought after for his sound advice on strategic Palace thinking.

Astragal's advice: Proceed with caution.
