How much more will the Swiss do to shuck off their worthy but dull image?

Not content with hosting one of the most architecturally distinguished Expos, they are now putting on a play, film and exhibition on that most decadent of drinks, absinthe. The play, Artemisia (the botanical name for wormwood, which gives absinthe its bitter taste and hallucinogenic effects) opens on 3 September at the Arteplage de Neuchâtel. The Swiss outlawed absinthe in 1908 and production went underground. There are many who would resist its re-legalisation, believing that absinthe one could buy at the supermarket is no fun at all. What has happened to that law-abiding Swiss character? And what will the bar serve during the intervals of Artemisia?
