A new web-based site analysis tool launches today which combines planning and environmental information with detailed maps

FIND is a pay-as-you-go tool which enables users to access detailed UK Ordnance Survey maps and apply layers of information related to planning (conservation areas, boundaries, protected views, postcodes), environmental (areas of natural importance, ground stability, mining, geology) and flooding (susceptibility to groundwater / river / coastal flooding) in a series of data packages, some of which are free. The service also includes dedicated customer support.

The information is gathered from a range of sources including English Heritage, English Nature, the Environment Agency and local authorities and displayed graphically on the maps. Users can download maps in PDF format and because the data is provided in layers which can be simultaneously turned on and off, the file can be used in presentations and for analysis. The files can also be customised with a company logo and annotations.

FIND also includes aerial photography for instant download - Ultra View, Modern and Historical packages are available for certain areas as well as GroundSure commercial, residential and environmental reports.

Registration is free and the website includes a demonstration with annotations describing the different functions. User feedback is encouraged and will inform future data package releases.
