A £3.85 million expansion of Halesowen College, West Midlands to include two new etching blocks has won outline planning permission. The blocks, designed by Birmingham-based Temple Cox Nicholls, comprise a teaching complex, multi-purpose sports hall and performing arts facility. They will be completed by September 2002.

Existing blocks will also be reworked to include a training restaurant and visitor centre. A further application for residential redevelopment of the college's Walton site is being considered.
