Feilden Clegg Bradley bags Bath Rugby Club redesign

  • Comment

Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBS) has defeated a five-strong shortlist of practices to win a job to redesign the home of Bath Rugby Club in Bath

Working with Pattern Design, heritage expert Robert Tavernor and Bath-based landscape designers Grant Associates, the practice will design a new 25,000 capacity stadium and linked facilities for the club.

Nick Blofeld, Bath Rugby Club chief executive, said: ‘All of the above are based in or have great links to the city so share our vision to build a world class facility for a world class city, of which Bath can benefit from and be proud.

‘The Club already helps to help maintain and enhance Bath’s economic vitality and we want to create a memorable and fitting place to experience and enjoy rugby. More than that, we want to create a multi-purpose recreational and cultural facility for the benefit of everyone.

‘It will be a long time before we submit a planning application for this project and we are keen to involve as many people as possible in the run up to that. PPS Group has a wealth of experience in this field and we are looking forward to engaging with the local community about potential options.’

PPS Group is managing the public consultation which will kick off with a series of events next year.
