Timoleon’s new Aether “screedless” underfloor heating system combines the fast warm-up and low build-up of timber underfloor heating systems with the high performance of screeded systems.
The Aether system is a pre-assembled floating floor product with a cementitious “screed substitute” board laid over. The floor panels are made from extra-high-density insulation (EHDN), available in any thickness above 25mm, giving them a high compressive strength. A resilient layer can also be introduced for acoustic purposes, complying with Part E.
The “screedless” Aether system has no drying time, cuts cost and minimises build up of the floor.
The “screed substitute” board has a lower resistance to heat transfer than conventional timber dry-construction floors, which improves the efficiency of heat pumps and boilers for underfloor heating systems. The system also has a lower mass than a screeded floor, which means faster warm up.
