Falconer Chester Hall's £56m Liverpool scheme to go ahead

[FIRST LOOK + PLANS + PROJECT DATA] Falconer Chester Hall has landed planning for its £56 million mixed-use scheme at Liverpool City Centre

The Oldham Street project features a 140-bedroom, three-star hotel and a 130-bedroom budget hotel as well as 113 post-graduate studio units and 247 basement car park spaces.

Mark Doohan of the Liverpool-based practice said: ‘The design unifies the broad mix of uses and creates a family of buildings and a dynamic city, street and roofscape. 

‘A two-tone mix of high quality cladding materials subtly subdivides the facades and gives the building a unique appearance which is striking in this context.’ 

Simon Murray Twinn, managing director of client Tara House, said: ‘We hope this development will be in the vanguard of the next wave of city centre regeneration bringing meaningful investment and continued growth to Liverpool.’

Work on site will being this summer with the project’s first phase expcted to complete in summer 2011. The full scheme is on target for an early 2012 opening.
