I was disappointed that you credited Arup as 'design engineer' for the BA London Eye (AJ 01.3.01).

The Institution of Structural Engineers' award was given to the main parties involved in the structure: Hollandia, the structural designer and structural contractor, and Babtie Allott & Lomas, the independent consulting engineer.

For the AJ to miss out Hollandia and credit Arup (whose involvement as 'initial scheme designer' ended almost two years before the project) does a disservice to the leading party involved with this amazing project.

Dr J M Roberts, director, Babtie Allott & Lomax and immediate past-president ISE
