English Partnerships has added 10 new sites to its National Coalfields Programme, a scheme that attempts to bring regeneration to former coal-mining communities.

Planning minister Lord Rooker - announcing the scheme's extension - also unveiled plans to give the programme more freedom and flexibility in the way it uses its £385 million funding budget.
