ExCel, the international exhibition centre in London's Docklands, is at last to go ahead, nearly two years after receiving planning permission. London International Exhibition Centre Limited, the original promoter of the project, has formed a joint venture with two subsidiaries of Malaysian developer Country Heights Holdings to take the project forward. Architect for the £200 million project was Moxley Architects, with input from Chris Wilkinson Architects. The scheme will include 110,000m2 of lettable exhibition space, a conference centre for 2700, a 14,500m2 trade mart, and 1000 hotel rooms.
