AJ Kiosks named as one of 13 key future projects for London

The six AJ Kiosk designs have been listed among the most significant future projects for London

The water fountain proposals drawn up by Zaha Hadid Architects, Adam Architecture, Hopkins Architects, Eric Parry Architects, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and Studio Weave were listed alongside 12 other potentially game-changing schemes for the capital.

The list, compiled by Dezeen, included Thomas Heatherwick’s controversial garden bridge over the River Thames, Frank Gehry and Norman Foster’s proposals for Battersea and the redevelopment of Crystal Palace.

The practices drew up the kiosk proposals in response to an AJ brief in partnership with Turkishceramics which called for new drinking fountains in the capital.

  • Eric Parry's is the only design with even the remotest semblance to a kiosk - the rest appear to be water fountains, pure and simple (and none the worse for that, but they ain't kiosks).

  • What is next for these designs? Is there a likelihood that any will appear on our streets?
