46 employed architects, 33% female architects, =31st position in 2014
Ian Simpson Architects finally became SimpsonHaugh and Partners in late 2014 in rightful acknowledgement of the long-term and ‘significant’ contribution of co-founding partner Rachel Haugh. The firm, whose workforce now tops 100, also restructured as an LLP to reflect the ‘wider ownership of the practice by the senior leadership team’. Increases in staff numbers has led the London and Manchester-based skyscraper and office-specialist to extend its offices, intriguingly to create more space ‘in which to work or relax away from the desk’. It is also supporting 15 students through their Part 3 exams – its highest ever roll-call of nearly qualified architects. The next year will see the burgeoning practice seek more work overseas, while continuing its drive ‘into other market sectors’.
