Planning, regeneration and regions minister Richard Caborn has announced that Sir Alan Cockshaw is to be the new chairman of English Partnerships, replacing Lord Walker of Worcester. He will take up the three-year post on 1 October. Cockshaw is president of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a director of the New Millennium Experience Company, and chairman of Manchester Millennium.
