This proposed £30 million project is a waste-to-energy plant that will produce enough renewable energy
to power 4,000 homes.
The plant will use anaerobic digestion, a water-based technology that recycles waste to produce energy through biogas. The biogas produces green electricity and any excess energy can be used to heat nearby homes.
The design approach relies extensively on landscaping and green roofs to mitigate the scale of the building and relate to nearby residential streets.
A curving form and a visually striking choice of materials combine to create a strong architectural language - an alternative to the elegant shoebox approach.
