Bill Dunster and conservation architect Donald Insall have been recognised in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours

Dunster, the sustainability architect behind  ZEDfactory, took an OBE for his services to sustainable housing and Insall (pictured) was knighted for his services to conservation architecture.

Nicholas Thompson, chairman of Donald Insall Associates, said: ‘He has really been a defining influence on the development of historic buildings conservation for over 50 years.’ The practice was established in 1958.

Also honoured was BDP’s chair of civil and structural engineering, Michelle McDowell and former Crossrail chairman, Doug Oakervee.
