Richard Hopkinson Architects and Platform 5 Architects have won planning permission for a new college scheme and a neighbouring 44 home development in the Cut, Southwark
Detailed planning permission has been granted for a £20 million media and arts block, the second phase of development at LeSoCo, a further education college in Southwark.
The six-storey eductaion building, which will contain flexible teaching space, a reception and café is connected to the college’s existing facilities, which are also being refurbished and remodeled by Platform 5 and Richard Hopkinson.
Outline planning permission has also been granted for a £10 million housing development on the same site, which will be sold to support the college’s redevelopment.
The 29 homes for sale and 15 affordable units, are arranged in a mixture of studios, apartments and townhouses in two separate blocks either side of a new pedestrian route named New Marlborough Street that will be run through the city block.
