Domeless problem

  • Comment

Strangely, little was reported in the newspapers last week of an attempted sabotage of the Millennium Dome press launch.

Mark Thomas, a comedian with his own TV show and a social conscience, caused embarrassed faces all round when he asked what the Dome (cost of entry £17.50) meant for the homeless, many of whom were only a minute away from the People's Palace restaurant where the launch took place. 'Take his microphone, ' someone murmured, as spinners and PRs moved menacingly towards him. Judging by the lack of column inches in the papers, they needn't have worried.

Interesting to see the Murdoch press change its tune about the Dome. One of the sponsors is Murdoch-owned BSkyB.
