Design Engine bags Bournemouth job

  • Comment

Winchester-based practice Design Engine Architects has won a job to design new buildings for Arts University College Bournemouth

The university is devoted solely to the study of art, design and media, and has a single campus in Poole for more than 3,000 students.

Design Engine will deliver a masterplan for the institution with its first commission to design a photography department building.

Principal professor Stuart Bartholemew, who chaired the selection panel, said the practice understood the vibrant spirit of the campus.

Design Engine has worked for several higher education clients, including Oxford Brookes University, University of Winchester, Oxford University, and University of Southampton.

It beat Architecture PLB, John Pardy Architects and Lee Fitzgerald Architects to the Bournemouth deal.
