With bills for maintenance on flat roofs at Blackburn's Lammack Primary School growing ever larger, the decision was taken to convert them to a pitch. To avoid having to strengthen the structures, Decra stonecoated steel tiles were chosen, which are only 10 per cent the weight of concrete tiles, but do not crack or break, slip or blow off with even the strongest wind. Bark colour matches tiles on older buildings.
