Decking discipline

  • Comment

Junckers' red oak lacquered ships' decking was considered able to take the hard knocks of teenage boys, laid on the floor of the new reception area at Merchant Taylors' School in Northwood, Middlesex, created in the refurbished undercroft to the great hall. The complex operation called for the original Granolithic screed to be excavated. It was replaced with a new concrete base with sleeper walls to form floor plenums and a plywood floor on joists.

Junckers was on hand to supply technical advice throughout.
