David Marks and Julia Barfield Architects' imposing British Airways London Eye finally got up into the vertical this week, ready for the 'pods' to be attached following their journey up the Thames. The wheel, 137m high and 30m taller than the clock tower of Big Ben will give views of up to 40km around. Adults will pay £7.45 for the half an hour ride when it starts turning in the New Year. The wheel is now the capital's fourth tallest structure.
