He's back: Dr Andreas C Papadakis, once of Architectural Design and the Academy Group, and now of New Architecture magazine, is putting on a two- day international symposium next week, at the Prince's Institute. Just two days after Daniel Libeskind has trodden the same boards, talking about his Decon museums, nine speakers will be addressing the subject of 'The Other Modern: Beyond Pluralism'. Leon Krier will be returning from self- imposed exile in France to provide the keynote address, 'Architecture: Choice or Fate', which also happens to be the title of his new book, published by Papadoc. When I tell you that the other speakers include Robert Adam, John Simpson, Lucy Archer, Richard John and Brian Hanson, it should be evident that the new head of school, Adrian Gale, did not have a great deal of input into the event.
