Cullinan's plans millennium village school

  • Comment
News in brief

Edward Cullinan Architects is to design an environmentally friendly school and health centre by the entrance to the Millennium Village on the Greenwich peninsula. The 3200m2 school will cater for 600 nursery and primary school children in playrooms, a creche, classrooms and an it-driven library. The 1300m2 health centre for seven doctors will include a social services and mental healthcare department in the building. To optimise energy efficiency, heat-storing masonry panels may be used in a quick-build frame. Construction is due to start early next year and the buildings should open in September 2000.
