COSTING THE EARTH

  • Comment

Evicting eco warriors from Crystal Palace Park to make way for Ian Ritchie's commercial development including multiplex cinema will cost local taxpayers £2.7 million, says Crystal Palace Campaign Group. Around 35 warriors were evicted in March and the costs include £306,000 for site security. The land is worth £6.1 million.

Architecture plb has designed this new headquarters for the Aston Martin Owners Club in Drayton St Leonard, Oxfordshire. The architect has secured planning permission for a hardwood-clad service pod alongside a fourteenth Century grade II* listed tithe barn. The pod is connected by a glass link to the barn, which will be remodelled to include a cast-aluminium staircase around a large trophy cabinet to the mezzanine level. Work starts next month.
