Congrats to parents of new Riverside House

Victoria Glendinning describes some of her favourite 'buildings with bellies and bulges', ranging from Breugel's Tower of Babel, through Val Myer and Watson Hart's Broadcasting House, to more contemporary examples, such as Ralph Erskine's Ark, Foster's GLA building and a new building on the Embankment, of which she says: 'I see to my delight that it is now pregnant'.

This building is in fact Riverside House, the new home to FT. com, courtesy of developer Chelsfield. It has been a great deal more than nine months in the making but is due to be completed in May 2002. Ms Glendinning is more than welcome to send a card of congratulations to the building's architects and very proud parents at RHWL!
