Comprehensive Design has won a refurbishment and extension award from the International Conference of Shopping Centres for its Churchill Square scheme in Brighton for Standard Life. The £40 million scheme contains 90 retail units, anchored by a 10,000m2 Debenhams and 6,300m2 BHS store. It meant the demolition and rebuilding of part of the existing 1960s centre. The project was also honoured by the British Council for Shopping Centres with an award last December.
