MIDLANDS 'ANGEL'SOUGHT Private consortium GEM Landmark has launched a competition to find an East Midlands monument to rival the Angel of the North. Open to 'anyone with a connection to the East Midlands', entries must be in during June.The winning design will receive a cheque for £2,000. AFFORDABLE HOUSING The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland has launched a competition to design sustainable, low-cost housing near Merrion Square in Dublin. Part of the Affordable Housing Scheme, the aim is to offer homes to people who cannot afford to live in the city due to sharply rising prices.The apartments will be sold by the local authority at a considerable discount on the market value.
