The centre is expected to cost £7 million, excluding external works. Stage one asks for expressions of interest plus details of experience and design approach.

Submission deadline 20 March.

Five practices shortlisted for stage two will each receive a £10,000 honourarium. CORUS STUDENT COMPETITION Proposals requested for a theme for the next World Expo.

Students will be asked to produce designs for the British pavilion, to be placed on a site of their choice. Registration deadline 13 April. The competition is part of the Jewellery Quarter Urban Village Initiative - a partnership seeking to promote and develop the Historic Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham city centre. Prize money of £10,000 will be awarded. Submission deadline 13 March.
