The deadline for expressions of interest is Monday 13 October.

SPRINGFIELD LANE Open design competition, on behalf of Urban Splash and Salford City Council, to select an ambitious practice to develop a framework plan for a new mixeduse urban neighbourhood.

Deadline for design is Friday 12 December.

AN ENERGY REVOLUTION, SOLUTIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN COMMUNITIES Submissions are invited for an open design competition based on a 2.2ha brownfield site on the edge of Manchester's city centre.

The objective is to design a mixed-use scheme, sustainable in its use of energy, urban in character and which promotes cooperative lifestyles. Deadline for designs is 16 January 2004.

CLEOPATRA'S KIOSK An open international competition for the design of a new structure for Cleopatra's Kiosk, located on the north bank of the River Thames in London.

The objective is to seek an exciting and innovative design for this new structure that will be worthy of this unique setting and a tourist attraction in its own right.Deadline for designs is 4 November 2003.

NEW DIGITAL MEDIA CENTRE, BARNSLEY An open two-stage competition for the design of a new state-ofthe-art Digital Media Centre in Barnsley. Competitors will be asked to submit designs to incorporate office, cafe and conference spaces.
