LYTHAM QUAYS An open two-stage competition, run on behalf of Kensington Developments, to develop a 29.2-hectare site adjacent to the Ribble estuary,1km from the centre of Lytham St Annes in the north-west of England.The site enjoys views over the mudflats and salt marshes of the estuary and of the Irish Sea, the Pennines and the Welsh Mountains.Kensington Developments is seeking ideas for the design of a new pedestrianonly village.

The requirement is for a mixed-use development of tourism, culture, environment, business and residential. The end value of the regeneration will be about £650 million.

The deadline for first-stage designs is 20 January.

E COLLEGE The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) is calling for designs of the college for the future. The challenge to architects and architectural students is to put together ideas for a new style of learning environment for the 21st century.Deadline is 30 January.

LANDMARK EAST COMPETITION Open ideas competition on behalf of the East of England Development Agency to generate ideas and designs for a major landmark or landmarks to attract significant funding and stimulate longterm economic benefit for the region.Deadline is 18 February.
