A framework agreement for the National Gallery, the Battle of Britain Beacon contest and a design competition for an Easter Seals school; the editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

The Trustees of the National Gallery are seeking to establish a 4-year framework agreement  for £1.2 - 1.7 million. The agreement is divided into various lots, including architectural, engineering and planning services; quantity surveying services; structural engineering consultancy services; as well as engineering design services for mechanical and electrical installations for buildings. The deadline for requests for documents is 2 August.

While Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios had previously come up with ‘an overall strategic direction and core concept, the Battle of Britain Beacon contest winner would not be bound by the practice’s initial designs. The RAFM are looking for an innovative, landmark design to house their Battle of Britain collection – which includes over a dozen aircraft. The deadline for receipt of tenders is 21 January.

A competition has been announced to design a new school environment for teens and adults with disabilities who participate in the Easter Seals VIP Academy. The competition seeks designs that support the schools aims and provides an environment to assist in delivering the programme’s aims. More information and the registration form can be found at http://www.designmatters2.com/registration.htm. The registration period closes 28 February.
