A theatre in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France, a Nissan dealership in Lima, Peru and a new entrance for the Science Museum in London: the editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in France has launched a design competition for a new theatre. Framed against the backdrop of the famous Mont Blanc mountain (above), the 1,750m² building is planned to start on site in February next year and has a construction budget of £5.1 million. Requests to participate must be made by 25 July and a prize fund of £22,000 is available.

Peruvian Nissan dealership Maquinarias has initiated an international design competition to enlarge and modernise one of its service centres in Lima. Maximum six people per design team, including at least one qualified architect. Entry fee £62 if received before 27 June.

The Science Museum in London is on the hunt for an architect-led design team to deliver a new £4 million entrance to its South Kensington building. It is planned to be open in time for the 2012 Olympics and the completion of Dixon Jones’ Exhibition Road revamp. The deadline for expressions of interest is 28 June.
