The University of Edinburgh is on the hunt for an architect for its new £40 million student centre. Planned to complete in 2020, the project’s first phase will refurbish Teviot Row House (pictured) and create a new build extension facing Charles Street Lane. Wrexham County Borough Council is on the lookout for an architect for a new £1.4 million arts and cultural industries hub. Planned to open in 2017, the new facility will be constructed inside the People’s Market building and feature a gallery, artists’ studios and learning centre. The Russian exclave of Kaliningrad has launched a design contest for a new government and cultural complex. Featuring a 1,500-capacity auditorium and 1,000m² archaeological museum – the new facility will be constructed inside the 4.5 hectare former footprint of Königsberg Castle which was destroyed during World War II [Deadline for registration 28 May]
