Design new housing in Upton, the Hastings Pier competition relaunch, a new loft tower in Peru, and a landscape consultancy framework for the University of Reading; the editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Architects are sought for the £10m design and construction of 149 new residential units, including all external works in Upton, Northampton.  Tenders must contact tender@bpm-london.comand request the pre qualification questionnaire. Tenders must be received by 11 November.

The RIBA has re-launched the Hastings Pier design competition, which it put on hold earlier this month following the structure’s near total destruction. With little of the partially-listed 1872 Eugenius Birch-designed tourist attraction remaining, the competition brief has been revised, but the process remains unchanged. Further details will be announced online.

ARQUIA in conjunction with Arquitectum have announced a competition to design a new kind of ‘Lofts Tower’ for a residential district in Lima, Peru.  The new design should complement the existing urban fabric, while creating a new residential prototype.  Entrants must register by 30 December.

The University of Reading in Berkshire is seeking an architect for its four-year landscape consultancy framework. The contract is worth £300,000 and the deadline for appplications is 22 November.
