Birmingham, Coventry and Miami – the inside track on this week’s most promising competitions

University College Birmingham is looking for an architect to work on its campus relocation project. Practices have until 19 March to register interest in detailed design for new or refurbished buildings forming part of a new campus.

Would-be masterplanners can get their teeth into this design competition for a new civic centre for Bayside Park in Miami, USA, run by Arquitectum and AIA Miami, which includes a Miami Architecture Museum as well as retail and housing. Early registration is due by 16 March.

Back in the Midlands, Coventry City Council is seeking a designer for a new primary school on Aldermans Green Road. Total construction value is estimated at £7,300,000 and the school should meet the BREEAM Very Good standard. Expressions of interest are due by 11 March.
