Reconstructing Glasgow’s Mackintosh Building, an overhaul of Stirling’s Andrew Melville Hall and the Bellaria Hill antenna park in Salerno. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

The Glasgow School of Art is on the hunt for an architect to restore its fire-damaged Mackintosh Building. An architect-led multidisciplinary design team will be appointed early next year to reconstruct the Category A-listed Art Nouveau landmark which caught on fire in May [Deadline for requests to participate 10 November]

The University of St Andrews is seeking an architect to renovate its Brutalist Andrew Melville Hall. A winning practice will be appointed as part of a project manager-led design team to overhaul the iconic accommodation block which was designed by James Stirling in 1967 [Deadline for requests to participate 30 October]

The City of Salerno in Italy has launched an international design competition to create a new landmark antenna and public park above the city. The winning team will receive £10,000 and the commission to regenerate Bellaria Hill which is currently home to a number of telecommunications antennas [Deadline for submissions 8 January]
