Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) has launched a design competition for a new £4 million temporary exhibitions gallery. Planned to complete in 2018, the 700m² project will create an ‘outstanding architectural space for temporary exhibitions’ within the vaults of an 1830 warehouse. [Deadline for applications 5 August]

Odense in Denmark has launched a competition for a new 6,000m² Hans Christian Andersen ‘fairytale’ visitor attraction. The project is part of a downtown regeneration within the city where the famous author was born in 1805. Stirling Council is on the hunt for an architect for Scotland’s new £2.25 million National Curling Centre. The project – located inside Stirling Sports Village – comes after the Great Britain’s male and female curling teams won silver and bronze medals respectively at the Sochi Winter Olympics.
