The redevelopment of Whitehaven Marina in Cumbria, Edinburgh’s £200 million home-building programme and a refurbishment project for Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust; the editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

The RIBA has launched a design contest for a £10 million mixed-use development at Whitehaven Marina, Cumbria (pictured). Shortlisted teams will receive a £4,440 honorarium and the competition is backed by Britain’s Energy Coast and Magnus Homes. Registration closes on 13 September.

The City of Edinburgh Council is on the hunt for an architect-led design team to manage a £200 million housebuilding programme. Services required include: architecture and urban design; structural and civil engineering; quantity surveying; landscape architecture; sustainability consultancy; and utilities engineering. Tenders need to be submitted quickly – the deadline is 19 July.

The Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust requires an architect with healthcare experience for a building and capital works programme at its Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary’s sites. Projects are primarily refurbishments, but the contract also involves some new-build work. Tenders must be received by 1 September.
