Extending the Manchester Jewish Museum, a new pair of gates for Hyde Park’s Rose Garden and a mixed-use regeneration in Hinckley. The editor’s pick of this week’s leading competitions

The Manchester Jewish Museum is seeking an architect for a £2.8 million refurbishment and extension of its Grade II*-listed Moorish Revival home. Planned to complete in 2020, the project will create galleries, learning areas and events spaces inside the Cheetham Hill Road synagogue. [Deadline for requests to participate 2 December]

The Royal Parks has announced a design competition for a £35,000 pair of main gates to the Rose Gardens in Hyde Park, London. Planned to complete in 2016, the project will deliver two new gates as part of a 1.2 metre-high perimeter fence being erected to improve security inside the popular attraction. [Deadline for submissions 23 November]

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council is on the hunt for an architect for the mixed-use redevelopment of its leisure centre on Trinity Lane.The winning team will draw up plans for a ‘landmark, high quality scheme’ on the prominent 1.4 hectare town centre plot featuring 66 residential units.
