Dublin’s primary school design contest, a 48-hour BIM competition in Newcastle and a £40 million innovation campus for Aberystwyth University. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Ireland’s Department of Education and Skills has launched a design competition for a new 4,850m² primary school in Dublin. Organised by the Royal Institute of Architects in Ireland, the contest seeks proposals for a 24-classroom school for a compact inner city plot on Harcourt Terrace [Deadline for submissions 12pm on 30 March]

Build Earth Live has announced an international contest to ‘speed design’ a new development in Newcastle in under 48 hours using BIM. Judged by Cabinet Office head of BIM implementation David Philp, the contest will seek proposals for a significant multi-use development at Spillers Quay [Deadline for registration 9 March]

Aberystwyth University is seeking an architect for a new £40 million Innovation and Enterprise Campus. Planned to complete in 2018, the ‘state-of the art’ 5,000m² development – to be constructed on the university’s Gogerddan site – will encourage companies and researchers to collaborate on new renewable energies and biotechnologies [Deadline for request to participate 10am on 2 March]
