The Alvar Aalto Foundation has launched an open international competition for a new extension connecting the Alvar Aalto Museum and Museum of Central Finland. The project aims to create an ‘attractive and high-quality’ cultural district incorporating the two Aalto-designed buildings in the centre of Jyväskylä. [Deadline for registration 16 October]

University of Dublin Trinity College is seeking an architect to re-masterplan its city centre campus. The winning team will draw up a medium term (10-15 year) and a longer term (50 year) masterplan for the 47 hectare College Green campus. [Deadline for requests to participate 25 July]

Wakefield City Council is on the lookout for an architect to restore its Grade II* listed former crown court. The local authority purchased the prominent building on Wood Street in the city’s civic quarter after its deteriorating condition saw it placed on the English Heritage ‘at risk’ register.
