Masterplanning Glasgow university, a new outpatients building for the Children’s University Hospital in Dublin and regenerating Guildford town centre. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

The University of Glasgow is on the hunt for an architect to create an ‘inspirational and world-leading’ masterplan for its 31 hectare Gilmorehill Campus. The winning team will introduce new commercial elements to the West End campus which will include the six hectare former Western Infirmary Hospital site from 2016 [Deadline for requests to participate 5 January]

The Children’s University Hospital in Dublin is seeking an architect for a new outpatients building. The winning team will replace an existing building with a new 400m² steel-framed structure housing the hospital’s Department of Neurology, Nephrology, Urology and Spina Bifida [Deadline for requests to participate 15 January]

Guildford Borough Council is on the lookout for an architect to masterplan its historic town centre and surrounding hinterland. The appointed team will create a commercially-based strategy focussing on the development of retail, commercial, leisure and residential activity within the Surrey county town [Deadline for requests to participate 12 December]
