Architects have been invited to masterplan the 2016 Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Run by city officials and the Brazilian Institute of Architects, the single-stage competition is open for registration until 15 June and closes for submissions on 30 June.

Scottish architecture charity Skirmishes has created an open design competition seeking ‘new urbanism’ concepts for a 9.3 hectares site on the edge of Glasgow. Designs should feature a 10,000m2 supermarket, 200 flats or houses, 10,000m2 of business space and a hotel. The deadline for submissions is 4pm on 30 May and the entrance fee is £25 per team.

A competition has been launched seeking designs for a joint school and museum of Flamenco in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Run by International School-Museum of Flamenco, the contest has a €28 entry fee and a €2,200 top prize. The deadline for registration is 7 August and designs must be submitted by 22 August.
