A new entrance for the Science Museum, the University of Gloucestershire’s Oxstalls Campus and upgrading St John at Hackney Church. The editor’s pick of this week’s leading competitions

The Science Museum is on the hunt for an architect to redesign its main entrance on Exhibition Road in west London. The winning firm will create a ‘new, generous and contemporary entrance’ for the South Kensington museum inside a 1,200m² former Royal Mail building. [Deadline for requests to participate 2 November]

The University of Gloucestershire is seeking a multi-disciplinary design team to take forward its Oxstalls Campus redevelopment masterplan. The winner of the estimated £2 million contract will draw up detailed plans for a combined 6,000m² business school and ‘growth hub’ on the Longlevens site. [Deadline for applications 19 October]

The St John at Hackney Church in north London is on the lookout for an architect for a £1.8 million regeneration scheme. The project will refurbish the Grade II*-listed building – designed by James Spiller to replace a nearby medieval parish church in 1792 – and create a new community centre. [Deadline for requests to participate 23 October]
