Colour bland

Richard Rogers is a symbol for the regeneration of the Thames (Lord Rogers of Riverside), but he has had his knuckles rapped over designs at his own office by Hammersmith Bridge. Michael Lancaster, who describes himself as an environmental colour consultant and is employed to jolly up stretches of London's river, complained about Rogers at a Corus seminar on colour in the built environment. Lancaster doesn't like the new apple-green sunblinds at the Rogers office, which recently replaced the yellow ones. 'They are the wrong kind of green to go with the trees,' Lancaster claimed amusingly.
